Dr. Jim Bohn

Dr. Jim Bohn

Dr. Bohn is a native of central Pennsylvania.  He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Penn State University and a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Temple University School of Dentistry.  After graduating, he worked for five years as an associate for two general dentists in central Pennsylvania, until he opened his own dental practice in Lewisburg, PA in 2001.  Dr. Bohn sold his thriving dental practice in 2009 to pursue a lifelong dream of living in a warmer climate, and he and his wife Melody, together with daughters Katelyn and Kelsey, moved to Cary.

Having practiced in a rural area for most of his 20+ year career, Dr. Bohn has expanded his abilities to include a range of more complicated procedures as he found that patients typically wanted to be treated in the same office whenever possible, versus being referred to a specialist.  He enjoys all aspects of providing general dentistry including composite fillings, onlays, crowns, root canal therapy, the removal of impacted wisdom teeth and the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.  He also enjoys doing esthetic smile makeovers with whitening techniques, invisalign and veneers. He is also proficient in CEREC “CAD-CAM” processing of single visit crowns. A lifelong member of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member a local chapter of the Seattle Study Club (that meets monthly), he enjoys continually learning new techniques and procedures.

One thing you can count on when seeing Dr. Bohn is that his light-hearted sense of humor will make you feel at ease and that he will use a conservative, low pressure, “option-based” approach to his treatment recommendations.  Dr. Bohn has a passion for precision dentistry and his favorite part of being a dentist is getting to know his patients and their families.  In addition to his clinical interest in dentistry, Dr. Bohn is an avid and competitive golfer with a low handicap.  In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family, fishing, hunting, and traveling.  He also has a private pilot’s license and enjoys aviation.  His family regularly attends Crosspointe church in Cary.

Of interest is that Dr. Bohn’s brother, Jason, has been a member of the PGA Tour since 2003 – he won the 2005 BC open and most recently he won the 2010 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
